Christine M. Plasencia took her Bachelors of Applied Arts from Central Michigan University in Violin Performance. She continued her studies in music education and violin performance under Michael Barta at Southern Illinois University. During this time she was an in-demand performer, playing with the Springfield Symphony, Saginaw Symphony, and Memphis Symphony, amongst others. Having taught privately for over twenty years, she uses various methods, including Suzuki, Mark O’Connor and traditional methods, to meet the needs of each particular student. She currently teaches violin, viola, cello, and piano out of studios in Thousand Oaks and Oxnard.

Mrs. Plasencia currently teaches violin and music to incarcerated youth at Providence School in Oxnard; Mrs. Plasencia is the Orchestra Director at St. John’s Lutheran Church School, in Oxnard. Mrs. Plasencia continues to perform classically, playing with the Windsong Quartet. She is the band leader of Segue, a jazz quintet which features Christine on jazz violin.
